City council votes to restrict Airbnb and other short-term rentals

Boston’s City Council has passed a series of rules meant to control the rapid growth of the short-term rentals, an industry pioneered by Silicon Valley giant Airbnb.

The legislation that ultimately passed on Wednesday was an amended version of the regulatory framework that Mayor Martin Walsh proposed in May.
